Kellogg Unveils Its Second Global Corporate Responsibility Report

Kellogg Company's corporate responsibility journey continues with launch of second global Corporate Responsibility Report.

More than a century ago, W.K. Kellogg founded Kellogg Company with a deep commitment to corporate responsibility.

The first box of Kellogg's Corn Flakes came off the line packaged in 100 percent recycled paperboard. Kellogg was also one of the first companies to print nutrition messages, recipes and product information on the back and side panel of cereal packages.

During the Great Depression, Kellogg launched a six-hour workday, allowing the company to add a fourth shift and hire 25 percent more employees. And W.K. was as passionate about his community as he was about his company – launching the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and putting his personal fortune to work on behalf of others.

"April 7 is the 150th anniversary of our founder's birth," said President and CEO David Mackay. In honor of this important occasion, Kellogg unveiled its second global Corporate Responsibility Report – a comprehensive accounting of the company's progress, challenges and future direction in four key areas: environment, marketplace, workplace and community.

"Kellogg is proud to report on our continuing efforts to further W.K. Kellogg's legacy of building a stronger business while doing the right thing for the environment and society," Mackay said.
